Center for the Arts
St. Barnabas Center for the Arts
Music lessons, jazz concerts, organ recitals, art shows, poetry events, opportunities for adults and teens to make music together, and more – that’s what’s waiting for you at St. Barnabas Center for the Arts!
We offer private lessons for just about anyone on anything you’d want to study in music – piano, organ, guitar, voice, woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings, even music theory. And if you have young children (5 or under) we host the Family Music Center’s Music Together program.
If you play – or have played – an orchestral or band instrument, you’re invited to be a part of the St. Barnabas Orchestra – a multigeneratinal ensemble which meets 5 times in the year and makes wonderful music for our coffee hours.
If you’re into jazz – or would like to see what it’s all about – our Jazz@StBarney’s series is just for you. Once a month professional jazz artists come out from downtown to showcase their virtuosity in 60-75-minute concerts that will have your toes tapping and a beat in your soul.
If organ music is your passion, our monthly lunchtime recitals are just the thing – enjoy listening to the area’s finest organists play on our 1026-pipe J.F. Nordlie organ.
Our Gardenview Gallery hosts month-long solo exhibitions by visual artists from local and regional scenes. Watercolors, oils, pastels, computer art, photos from the Hubble Space Telescope, State Fair winners and homegrown artwork – we’ve shown them all over the last few years and are looking forward to new visions this season.
St. Barnabas Center for the Arts is a program of St. Barnabas Lutheran Church supporting the arts through education, nurturing and sharing of creative works.
