Family Resource Center
The Family Resource Center at St. Barnabas is a community based counseling and therapy resource. The center is open to everyone.
About The Family Resource Center
St. Barnabas expanded its ministry to the surrounding community in 2013 by launching a Family Resource Center (FRC), a community-based counseling and therapy resource.
Cynthia LaChance-Lindberg, a Licensed Family & Marriage Therapist (LFMT) works at the FRC as an independent practitioner, not as an employee of the congregation. St. Barnabas provides her with a room, which she has furnished as a counseling office. By not having to pay for office space, the FRC is able to provide services on a sliding fee scale based upon income and ability to pay. The FRC does not share any information with the St. Barnabas pastoral staff unless specifically requested to by the client.
Here are some of the services Cindy is qualified to provide:
Marriage and Family Therapy
Individual Therapy for all ages
Play Therapy for Children
Personal Life Coaching
Professional Life Coaching
Relationship Enrichment Experiences
Parent / Child Relationship Programs
Support and Therapy Groups
Cindy worked with 42 families this past year. Well over 240 therapeutic sessions have taken place in the office provided by St. Barnabas. She has also had many phone consultations and provided resources to other individuals who stop by the office, call, or email me.
This year Melissa Weinhandl is working with Cindy as a marriage and family therapy intern. Melissa is currently working on finishing two Master’s degrees, an MA in Theology from Luther Seminary and an MA in Marriage and Family therapy from St. Mary’s University.
The Family Resource Center is located at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 15600 Old Rockford Road, Plymouth MN 55446
